Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements to define system design.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to establish the product's operational environment.
  • Oversee product design and verify structural integrity through analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead the creation of test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results to ensure systems and components meet specifications.
  • Define and document certification and test results to validate compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support for in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing potential improvements.
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to enhance the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of development efforts.
  • Operate with minimal supervision.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start.

Onsite Requirement

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work at one of the designated locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in structural fatigue/stress analysis.
  • Proficiency in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
  • Capability to produce technical reports and present findings effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level 4).
  • 14 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level 5).
  • U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Familiarity with fixed-wing military aircraft platforms.
  • Understanding of Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and its requirements.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck, and Lifeworks.
  • Ability to comprehend and draft engineering reports based on analysis results, test findings, and maintenance reports.
  • Experience with Spectrum Generation.
  • Background in Full-Scale Fatigue Testing and/or other structural and material testing plans.
  • Capacity to mentor and train early career engineers.
  • Experience working within a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
