Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Distinguished Engineer to lead the development of our Payments Platform from the ground up. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for defining the technical direction and roadmap for the platform, ensuring it meets business goals for security, resilience, compliance, and correctness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the engineering direction and roadmap for the Payments Platform
  • Lead the development of the platform, ensuring it meets business goals
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
  • Hold a high bar on technical decision making and set standards for engineering artifacts
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Triage and resolve service disruptions
  • Influence and educate leadership at all levels

Requirements:

  • Deep hands-on experience in full stack system design and implementation of payments and finance systems
  • Proven ability for system architecture and influencing engineering direction and product roadmap
  • Hands-on experience building platforms from ground up using resiliency patterns, observability, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code
  • Fluency and specialization with at least two modern languages such as GO, Java, Python, or C# including object-oriented design
  • Fluency with RESTful Web Services and Event Driven Architectures
  • Experience with cloud computing tooling across the software development life cycle with fluency in devops, observability, telemetry, and test automation
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of leadership
