Job Title: Senior Fuel Tax Manager

Circle K is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fuel Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of fuel tax compliance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Fuel Tax Manager and monitor performance.
  • Strategic analysis of business operations to implement innovative process improvements.
  • Attend frequent meetings and advise management on complex fuel tax issues, acquisition/divestitures, programs, laws, policies, and tax regulations.
  • Develop and implement operational fuel tax policies and procedures.
  • Manage onshore and offshore teams in the preparation and filing of fuel excise tax returns, related schedules, and reports for Federal, State, and Local tax jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and/or approve General Ledger Balance Sheet account reconciliations.
  • Manage fuel tax audits and work closely with Fuel Accounting.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of IFTA, HVUT, and weight & distance returns.
  • Manage internal controls and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of fuel tax records and manage the fuel tax portion of year-end financial statement audit.
  • Provide guidance for PDI Enterprise (ERP) and Avalara fuel tax configurations and settings.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements, policies, and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems, policies, and governmental regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive fuel excise tax experience.
  • Experience representing the company in audits.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Management experience required.
  • General ledger accounting experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience with PDI and Avalara a plus.
