Job Summary:

The State of Florida is seeking a highly skilled Chemist Specialist to join our team in the Bureau of Agricultural Environmental Laboratories. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for conducting analytical chemistry evaluations of various types of laboratory data, including gas chromatograms, liquid chromatograms, photo-diode array spectrum, and mass spectrum generated through laboratory analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct analytical chemistry evaluations of laboratory data to ensure accuracy and meet quality assurance requirements.
  • Validate analyses in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Assist in maintaining the LIMS system, including test codes, location codes, and result entry templates.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry and three years of professional chemical or biochemical experience.
  • Or master's degree in chemistry or biochemistry and two years of professional experience.
  • Or doctorate in chemistry or biochemistry.
