Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

Join our dynamic team at PTI Technologies as a Precision CNC Operator. This role is essential in our machine shop, which operates on a 5-day work week with 8-hour shifts. Initially, you will train on the day shift before transitioning to the 2nd shift, where you will receive a differential pay increase.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines to manufacture metal components according to precise specifications. Your key duties will include:

  • Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ascertain tooling needs and machining processes.
  • Creating and reviewing setup sheets to establish machining sequences and specifications.
  • Securing workpieces in fixtures and ensuring proper machine setup.
  • Assembling and positioning cutting tools within the machine as per specifications.
  • Downloading and executing part programs from our machine shop's storage system.
  • Monitoring machine operations to identify any malfunctions or issues.
  • Recommending adjustments to improve production efficiency and quality.
  • Measuring finished components to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the workspace and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this position, candidates should possess a combination of education and experience in machining. A trade school certificate or significant machine shop experience is preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to read complex blueprints, utilize precision measuring tools, and operate CNC machinery effectively. Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety are essential.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role involves exposure to mechanical components and may require lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be prepared for a loud work environment and adhere to safety protocols.
