The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as an advocate and employs the nursing process in delivering care across all age groups throughout the health continuum. This nursing process encompasses assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, all grounded in scientific, evidence-based practices. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care, aiming for optimal outcomes while recognizing the vital role each participant plays in the care process.

The RN possesses a thorough understanding of the professional scope of practice and adheres to the ANA nurse practice standards, fulfilling these standards in a legal, professional, and ethical manner.

The RN's role is adaptable, making care decisions based on the patient's condition and continuously reassessing and prioritizing according to individual needs.

Educational Requirements

Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN is preferred.

Experience Requirements

Previous relevant nursing experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Required

Must hold a valid nursing license in the State of Vermont. BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required. Unit-specific certifications as necessary (ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC) according to departmental operational standards. Completion of an endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification as per unit-specific guidelines.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Proven proficiency in acute-care nursing, along with relevant knowledge and skills. Moderate understanding of basic computer skills is essential.

Compensation Range = $ $55.09
