Job Title: Preschool Associate Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Preschool Associate Teacher to join our team at Peninsula Family Service. As a Preschool Associate Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the design, planning, and implementation of a quality early childhood education classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in planning and implementing activities that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Assist in supervising children during indoor and outdoor play, and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, and assist with daily tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other staff members to ensure a smooth and collaborative working relationship.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must possess or be eligible for a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 12 college units in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • One year of experience working with preschool-age children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 pounds and participate in activities that require standing, walking, and bending.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultures.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices.
