Key Responsibilities and Role Overview:

Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, a segment of Sonic Healthcare USA, is seeking a Strategic HR Advisor to join our team.

The Strategic HR Advisor will collaborate with division personnel on all aspects of human resources and work in tandem with the central HR team. The primary areas of focus will include employee engagement, data analysis and reporting, collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards Centers of Excellence (CoE), assisting with onboarding processes, training coordination, performance evaluation, compliance with employment laws, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with division and central HR teams on initiatives related to Engagement and Retention, Policy Alignment, and Talent Acquisition.
  • Address and resolve intricate employee relations matters and conduct comprehensive, impartial investigations.
  • Provide counseling for employee relations, outplacement, and conduct exit interviews.
  • Offer daily performance management support to line management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Advise managers and supervisors on HR guidance and policy interpretation.
  • Suggest enhancements in processes and customer service, innovative solutions, and policy modifications.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of legal obligations concerning employee management, minimizing legal risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including managing requisition approvals and coordinating employment offers and onboarding for new hires.
  • Utilize available metrics to inform business decisions and recommendations.
  • Organize and deliver training and coaching programs, and participate in the assessment and monitoring of these programs.
  • Serve as a backup for employee inquiries regarding basic benefits and coordinate with central benefits staff as necessary.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate employee engagement events.
  • Act as a primary liaison with external vendors and stakeholders as required.
  • Embody the desired culture and values of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in Human Resources, encompassing Employee Relations, Training, Recruitment, and Compensation/Benefits.
  • Ability to operate independently and make sound judgment calls.
  • Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
  • Proven ability to use effective interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy, and tact to cultivate strong professional relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Workday is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel periodically within the division territory and for central HR meetings.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM certification is a plus.
