Civil Construction Estimator - Full-time

Location: Remote

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or project management role.
  • At least 7 years of experience in estimating heavy highway or civil engineering projects.
  • 10 years of overall professional experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with MS Project Scheduling software.
  • Expertise in HCSS HeavyBid estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage bid documentation including plans, specifications, RFIs, and addenda.
  • Evaluate bid documents for thoroughness, discrepancies, and inquiries.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of bidding documents and conduct both quantitative and qualitative assessments.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site inspections as necessary.
  • Create preliminary budget estimates.
  • Engage with potential subcontractors and oversee their bidding process.
  • Compile comprehensive estimates for projects.
  • Offer insights on possible alternatives, options, and value engineering strategies.
  • Formulate project timelines.
  • Contribute to estimate review sessions.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to deadlines.
