Job Description

This Perioperative Nurse Specialist role involves providing personalized patient care in the peri-operative setting. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for communicating effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless transitions throughout the peri-operative process.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Providing nursing care in the peri-operative setting (pre op, phase 1, phase 2)
  2. Safely caring for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics in a high volume/fast-paced environment
  3. Maintaining a clean, neat, and efficient working environment
  4. Performing ECG, urine pregnancy, glucometer, I-stat testing/lab draws, bladder scan, insertion of PIV as required
  5. Managing patient's admission to the ASC, recovery, and discharge from the ASC

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:
  1. A graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  2. An active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
  4. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for Healthcare providers (AHA) within 3 months of hire
  5. PALS certification may be required but can be obtained within the first six months of hire
  6. A minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Registered Nurse
