Position Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Cardiac Telemetry and Med/Surg unit, you will be part of a high-acuity environment that provides comprehensive care to patients with complex needs. Our unit specializes in caring for individuals requiring extensive assistance with activities of daily living, as well as those at high risk for falls and various medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and document both objective and subjective patient data.
- Contribute to nursing assessments and communicate findings to the registered nurse or authorized healthcare provider.
- Implement nursing care plans under the direction of the RN, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and document patient responses to care and report any adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and their families about care plans and health management.
- Participate in the orientation of new staff, sharing knowledge and experiences to foster a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
- Current Ohio License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One year of patient care experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires full body motion to assist and lift patients, along with manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. It involves extensive standing and walking, and the ability to exert physical force as needed.
