Driver Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Driver Assistant to join our team at Mutual Trading Company. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist drivers in transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
- Maintain good communication with associates and management throughout the organization.
- Perform other projects/assignments as designated by the Warehouse Manager as directed.
- Maintain valid documentation for use of vehicle (i.e., license, registration, insurance).
- Report to supervisor any work-related parking ticket or moving ticket by filling out the parking summons sheet on the day of the accident.
- Required to take the driver's safety training yearly.
- In case of a vehicle accident, drivers must take pictures of cars affected and surrounding area and file incident report the same day of the accident and report to direct supervisor immediately after the accident occurs.
- Utilize vehicle for authorized Company business only.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized vehicle, adhering to and following automotive service recommendations at all times.
- Ensure complete order is loaded for delivery and safely secured in vehicle.
- Obey all traffic regulations and report any traffic incidents.
- Make timely and efficient deliveries.
- Ensure all payments are made in full.
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with Department Sanitation and QA standards.
- Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
- Perform duties in accordance with the Company's HAZCOM program and adhere to manufacturer's label instructions for the safe and proper use of all chemical products.
- Utilize and maintain equipment as required by department; report any equipment problems immediately.
- Stand at workstation for duration of scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
- Required to use driver's log according to the hours-of-service rule (HOS).
- Required to travel out of the state of Maryland, possible stay overnight 2-4 days out of the week depending on locations and customer demands.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess valid State Driver's license and have driving record free of infractions.
- Required to pass drug, alcohol test and medical examination.
- Valid DOT Qualified preferred.
- More than 6 months of 16 feet or 18 feet commercial Truck driving experience required.
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred.
- Ability to drive continuously throughout scheduled shift.
- Ability to operate a GPS and organize deliveries efficiently.
- Ability to deal with confidential information and maintain organization.
- Ability to meet deadlines on a timely basis.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
- Ability to tolerate dust and chemical agents during routine housekeeping duties.
- Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
- Willing to submit to background/drug checks.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift/Carry Abilities (measured for maximum or average load).
- Lift, carry, pull, push up to lbs.
- Physical Aptitudes (rated based on level of skill involved).
- Stand/walk - constantly.
- Reach above shoulder level - occasionally.
- Twist/Turn head - occasionally.
- Bend over/stoop - occasionally.
- Climb steps/ladder - occasionally.
- Kneel/squat – occasionally.
