Endoscopy Nurse Opportunity at ChristianaCare
We are seeking a skilled Endoscopy Nurse to join our team at ChristianaCare. As an Endoscopy Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and support during endoscopic procedures, including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, and more.
About the Role
This is a full-time position working a 72-hour bi-weekly schedule, Monday to Friday, with a day shift from 7:00 to 4:30. You will be required to participate in a weekend and holiday rotation, with on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with endoscopic procedures and bronchoscopies
- Obtain biopsy and pathology specimens during procedures
- Order additional testing as directed by anesthesiology
- Provide assistance and support to physicians and anesthesia during procedures
- Respond to and act on emergent situations/codes within the department
- Educate patients and families about procedures, medications, disease processes, and discharge instructions
- Monitor patients during the recovery phase post-anesthesia or moderate sedation
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergent cases
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in critical care or perioperative services or HVIS or ED
- Current Registered Nurse license required
- Previous procedural and GI Lab experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
