We are seeking a skilled Barista & Sandwich Maker to join our team at The Picnic Basket, a beachfront cafe located near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience by working the register, making tea and coffee drinks, and preparing breakfast items and salads and sandwiches.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean and welcoming environment
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and food items, including breakfast items, salads, and sandwiches
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our menu items and make recommendations to customers
- Work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Communicate and prioritize effectively to meet customer needs and maintain a smooth operation
- Experience in customer service or food production in a high-volume location is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Ability to communicate and prioritize effectively
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Desire to learn more about locally sourced food and sustainable business practices
- Availability to work at least 20 hours a week on a reliable basis, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Tips (approx. $6.00-$10.00 in tips per hour)
