Job Summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Women's Pelvic Medicine team on a per diem basis. As an LVN, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of patient care activities, including prioritizing and assisting in patient triage, preparing and assisting with patient examinations, administering medications, collecting and preparing laboratory tests, and patient education.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients with pelvic floor conditions, including urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, and urinary tract infections.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's unique needs and circumstances.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current LVN license issued by the State of California.
  • BART or BLS certification at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six months.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in an outpatient Women's Health clinic.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions and proper use of body mechanics.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize critical demands, and work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Urology experience.
  • Experience with diagnostic and treatment procedures.
  • Experience maintaining sterilization of equipment.
