Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Faculty Member to join our team at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. As a Clinical Psychotherapy Services Provider, you will be responsible for providing outpatient clinical psychotherapy services to patients across SIU clinical sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and didactic training to residents and interns
  • Establish lines of research and participate in the department's Psychotherapy Training Committee
  • Supervise social work interns and psychology trainees as appropriate
  • Assist in teaching seminars and/or clerkships each academic year
  • Maintain professional practice in accordance with SIU Healthcare policy conducting individual and/or group psychotherapy
  • Conduct initial appointments for intake of psychiatric patients and triage as appropriate
  • Document all activities associated with oversight of each patient and all services being provided according to SIU-HC standards
Requirements
  • Doctorate Degree in Social Work
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the State of Illinois
  • Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority population
