Key Responsibilities

Technical Procedures:

  • Perform CT scans on patients, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Adjust technique to ensure optimal image quality and minimize radiation exposure.
  • Operate CT equipment, including scanners and consoles, to produce high-quality images.
  • Position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.

Patient Care:

  • Verify patient information and medical history before each procedure.
  • Obtain informed consent from patients before performing procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Respond to emergency situations, providing critical care as needed.

Quality Control:

  • Perform routine quality control tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Review images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

Education and Training:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Current certification in radiography and computed tomography (CT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and quality control procedures.
