Job Summary

Ryder is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team in Edison, New Jersey. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electronic issues, and ensuring our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles is in top condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic issues with diesel engines and other vehicle systems
  • Conduct standard component inspections and repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance and identify root causes of basic failures/conditions
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Benefits
  • Average weekly pay: $1,020
  • Hourly pay: $25.50 per hour
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: Second shift, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
