Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Verify patient demographics, check patients in for appointments, and schedule future appointments as needed.
  • Front Office Operations: Coordinate and perform front office activities in an effective and efficient manner, including greeting patients, managing wait times, and communicating with patients and staff.
  • Insurance and Billing: Read and interpret insurance responses, understand general guidelines and insurance rank requirements, and assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance per encounter.
  • Financial Obligations: Communicate financial obligations to patients, collect fees at time of service, and process multi-channel messages related to patient and/or physician requests.
  • Medical Record Maintenance: Accurately perform medical record maintenance and releases, and assist with referrals and pre-certifications.
  • Quality and Productivity: Maintain high regard for confidentiality, work independently to ensure timely resolution of all accounts, and maintain productivity and quality performance expectations.
Requirements
