KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Preparing a diverse range of baked goods and pastries for food and beverage services, in accordance with departmental specifications and recipes.
- Ensuring that all final products meet the quality standards established by the organization.
- Executing orders based on standardized recipes in a timely and professional manner, demonstrating proficiency in piping and decoration techniques.
- Adhering to all preparation protocols as outlined in the quality-standardized recipes provided by management.
- Conducting inspections of culinary equipment before and after use to ensure proper functionality.
- Understanding and implementing proper storage techniques for all food items, particularly high-protein products.
- Interpreting Banquet Event Orders and producing specified items according to established standards, while managing inventory of dessert items across various outlets.
- Maintaining an organized inventory at workstations while minimizing unnecessary waste.
- Reviewing and updating the preparation list and daily inventory requirements.
- Communicating any issues or challenges encountered during shifts to management.
- Following all recipes and control measures diligently.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace in full compliance with health regulations.
- Assisting in various areas of food production as required.
- Demonstrating consistent and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully fulfill this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
AGE and GAMING:
Must be at least 18 years old
Gaming property - Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in culinary operations is required, including at least one (1) year in a baking or pastry environment.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Must possess Serv-Safe certification or obtain it within a specified timeframe. Emphasis on both classic and contemporary baking techniques, with strong skills in chocolate and sugar work, as well as cake decoration and assembly.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, operating instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATH SKILLS:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in both mathematical and diagrammatic forms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Essential responsibilities include moderate to heavy physical activity, such as lifting or maneuvering at least fifty (50) pounds, pushing and/or pulling food carts weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds, and standing or walking for the majority of the shift. Responsibilities may also involve working on slippery or wet surfaces and handling hazardous materials. Must be able to work while wearing appropriate protective gear.

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, but may increase in certain areas. Associates may be exposed to tobacco smoke in designated areas.
