Position Overview:
PeaceHealth is in search of a Safety and Security Specialist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position. The compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safety and security services, which include conducting patrols of premises, monitoring parking areas, securing entry points, and addressing potential policy violations.
  • Engage with local law enforcement to provide necessary information, clarify incidents, and coordinate emergency responses.
  • Perform regular internal and external security patrols of designated facilities, manage dispatch duties, and oversee access control as required.

Key Duties:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of property to identify safety concerns, check for damages, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Offer escort services for the protection of staff and patients as needed.
  • Provide assistance with non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Facilitate crowd management during high-traffic events to ensure safety and order.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, applying established protocols for various incidents, including fire, flood, and hazardous spills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in military, civilian security, or law enforcement roles.
  • Preferred experience in healthcare facility security.
  • Completion of CPI/De-escalation training within the first 180 days of employment.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to develop and implement action plans while utilizing crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Proficient in data entry and familiar with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policies.
