Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist in the operation of our college gymnasium. As a Gymnasium Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the gymnasium during open hours, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
  • Enforce facility rules and policies to ensure the safety and proper conduct of users.
  • Assist with equipment setup and breakdown for practices, games, and events.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the gymnasium to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of gym usage, incidents, and maintenance needs.
  • Provide assistance to users with equipment requests and ensure proper return of items.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere in the gymnasium.
Requirements
  • Current enrollment as a student at Stephens College, approved for work-study/program through Financial Aid.
  • Interest in sports, physical education, or facility management.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of sports and gym equipment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, based on gymnasium schedule.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR (certification preferred but not required).
