Housekeeping Attendant

To maintain the cleanliness and appearance of guest accommodations and public spaces, the Room Attendant will ensure they meet all brand or hotel standards in the rooms and public areas.

• Receive the list of assigned rooms from the supervisor and prioritize them based on direction from the supervisor or as noted on the list.
• Follow the sign-in and sign-out procedures for the key to access the rooms.
• Check the inventory of the cleaning cart and add any necessary supplies.
• Knock and announce self before entering the room; return at a later time if the rooms are occupied.
• Notify the supervisor of any damage or strong odor in the room.
• Remove linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets from each assigned room and provide fresh replacements.
• Make beds and stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels according to policies.
• Clean and disinfect the bathroom and kitchenette or coffee-preparation areas according to hotel policies.
• Disinfect all high-touch items, including wall and lamp switches, thermostat, door handles, telephone, TV remote(s), etc.
• Clean mirrors, glass, and dust pictures and other objects in the room.
• Vacuum floors and remove trash.
• Check and restock complimentary coffee, snacks, and toiletry supplies in the room according to the hotel checklist and policy.
• Ensure the room meets hotel and brand standards with a final walkaround.
• Notify the supervisor of found items and bring them to the lost and found if the guest has checked out.
• Notify the supervisor of rollaways or cribs in rooms for pickup and storage.
• Notify the supervisor of room availability.
• Ensure soiled linens are provided to laundry timely.
• Notify the maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs based on hotel processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred. Other languages in addition to English are a plus.
• Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
• Ability to be flexible and work weekends, holidays, and be scheduled any days of the week. Weekends are required.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending forward, and trunk rotation while standing or sitting.
• Frequent stair climbing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching both above and below shoulder.
• Vision - must have the ability to adjust focus as well frequent use of close, peripheral, and depth/distance vision.
• Hands/Fingers - frequent use of fine motor skills.
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent pushing and pulling carts of up to 100 lbs on wheels.
• Frequent forceful grip.
• Occasional crawling.
