Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recovery Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our Counseling & Resiliency Center, you will provide counseling services to clients in residential, offsite programs, and community areas. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping individuals overcome mental health challenges and achieve long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Counseling Services: Develop and implement counseling goals with clients to ensure their needs are being met. Track outcomes and manage data to inform treatment decisions.
  2. Administer Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to determine clinical needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  3. Utilize Trauma-Informed Practices: Provide counseling sessions that recognize and strengthen protective and resiliency factors, building resilience to stress.
  4. Document Services: Accurately and timely document all services in TheraNest, ensuring relevant documentation and confidential therapeutic documentation is maintained.
  5. Participate in Program Meetings: Collaborate with the clinical team to discuss substance abuse-related needs and concerns, as well as other clinically related issues.
  6. Provide Training Opportunities: Offer training and education to staff members on mental health topics and best practices.
  7. Develop Group Counseling Opportunities: Create and lead group counseling sessions for clients, as indicated.
  8. Supervise Interns: Provide oversight and support to interns, ensuring they receive a quality internship experience.
  9. Meet Professional Standards: Adhere to applicable professional codes of ethics and respond to emergency situations as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree in counseling, psychology, or social work.
  • Minimal of a registered intern status, with the ability to qualify for and begin Registered Intern status within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of homeless issues, with experience working with behavioral/mental health and/or trauma or developmental issues.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • A heart for ministry and a strong understanding of poverty.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong counseling skills and the ability to teach individuals and groups.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work effectively within a team framework.
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
