Orthopedic Cast Technician

Kern Medical Surgery Center, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthopedic Cast Tech/Surgery Coordinator to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide casting and scheduling services as ordered by physicians, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

• Independently provide casting services, including assisted fracture reductions, applications of casts and splints, and wound care.
• Prepare casting materials, maintain equipment and supplies, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Perform other duties, such as traction frame setup and maintenance, and assisting providers with minor procedures.
• Document patient information, including procedures performed, time-outs, and education provided.
• Assist with front office management, appointment scheduling, patient check-in, authorizations, and billing.
• Schedule patients for exams and input/update patient information in our medical system.
• Collaborate with physicians to schedule surgeries for patients.

• Graduate of a NAOT certified program (or relevant work experience).
• Possession and maintenance of a BLS (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support) certification.
• 2-year Orthopedic Cast Technician or Technologist experience required.
• MA (Medical Assistant) certification preferred, but not required.

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Ability to work independently, problem solve, and prioritize demands.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
