Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Server to join our team at Black Bear Diner Hayward. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to our guests, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty to our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting and Seating: Greet all guests in a professional, friendly, and family-oriented manner, ensuring a warm welcome to our restaurant.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Take food orders, offer beverages, and ensure that all orders are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Table Management: Manage tables effectively, ensuring that guests are seated and served promptly, and that their needs are met throughout their dining experience.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with guests, kitchen staff, and management, ensuring that all needs are met and that guests are informed of any delays or issues.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other servers, hosts/hostesses, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and a positive dining experience for all guests.
  • Adherence to Policies: Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures, including those related to food safety, sanitation, and customer service.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, and stay on feet for prolonged periods of time, up to four hours without a break.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and carry plates, dishes, and trays with a weight of up to nine pounds on a continuous basis.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to write orders and work with a Point of Sale (P.O.S.) screen, requiring repetitive motion.
  • Customer Service: Must be courteous, smile frequently, and express a cheerful disposition at all times.
