Position Summary:

The primary role of the Safety Coordinator is to proficiently manage and uphold all Regulatory, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security standards as mandated by Federal, State, and Local agencies, including DOL (OSHA, OWCP), EPA, and the OMF Code of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the EHSS plan.
  • Support management in achieving the facility's EHSS goals and requirements.
  • Advise departmental management on relevant EHSS legal obligations.
  • Implement and oversee compliance with EHSS procedures and programs as per DOL (OSHA), EPA, etc.
  • Lead initiatives to resolve employee safety concerns, prioritizing Safety & Health.
  • Facilitate communication regarding EHSS matters across all organizational levels.
  • Chair the EHSS Committee, managing meetings, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Track and coordinate compliance with government regulations.
  • Direct safety teams and multi-plant safety councils.
  • Analyze company accident data and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with EHSS committee members and management in incident investigations to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits with EHSS committee members and management, focusing on hazard identification and control.
  • Perform routine safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation and reports in line with reporting requirements.
  • Manage injury reports and Workers' Compensation claims, including the Return to Work program.
  • Assist the EHSS Manager in preparing annual reports for agencies like the EPA.
  • Provide training on EHSS topics to employees and contractors as needed.
  • Update training matrices and safety violation notices.
  • Address emergencies and recommend workplace improvements.
  • Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
  • Arrive fit for duty and sustain fitness throughout the workday.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • OSHA 511/510 certification (preferred).
  • Bilingual - Spanish required.
