Position Type: PRN (On Call)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough activity evaluations through patient observation and interviews with patients and their families to gather essential information regarding their needs, interests, and limitations, aiding in the creation and execution of personalized treatment plans.
- Design, organize, and implement engaging activities within the treatment framework to support patient progress towards their therapeutic objectives.
- Facilitate and lead various activity sessions aimed at enhancing the mental and physical well-being of patients.
- Instruct patients in diverse activities and techniques, including sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation methods tailored to their individual requirements.
- Develop and execute treatment strategies that align with patient interests and assist them in achieving their therapeutic goals.
- Encourage participation in therapeutic activities such as exercise, games, and community outings.
- Assist patients in acquiring essential social skills necessary for maintaining independence.
- Adapt activities to meet the unique needs of specific groups.
- Exhibit a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards all individuals, addressing any unmet patient needs and prioritizing patient safety.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field recognized for national certification in the respective area of expertise.
- Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or in the process of obtaining national certification; OR certification in a specific area of expertise (Art, Dance, Music, etc.) OR relevant clinical licensure (LCPC, LPC, etc.) with certification in expressive therapy.
- Current First Aid, CPR, de-escalation, and restraint certifications are required (training provided upon hire).
Compensation for positions at Acadia Healthcare varies based on several factors, including specific role, skill set, and experience level.
Compensation Range: $28.00/hour - $39.00/hour - Based on Experience
