Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Systems Integration Lead Engineer to join our team as a vital contributor to support NASA as an Oceaneering Teammate on the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract. As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Wireless, Communications & Integration section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and Systems Integration Lead Engineer for the integration activities of the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a critical integration effort of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon.
- Collaborate with lab personnel, partners, providers, and testing stakeholders to understand interface and testing requirements.
- Leverage interface knowledge to assure lab design provides the proper interfaces and fidelity to satisfy testing objectives.
- Develop expertise on lab verification efforts and ensure facility is applicable for assigned testing.
- Assist in lab equipment testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure equipment meets requirements and is satisfactorily integrated.
- Maintain strict documentation of integration processes, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing results.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Provide support to lab personnel and external customers on integrated systems and their specifications.
- Continuously reassess documents, policies, and procedures for future configurations of the lab.
- Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
- Communicate and organize to efficiently work within a team environment.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field.
- Experience integrating complex hardware and software systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging skills.
- Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
- Five (5) years of years of experience in the field.
- Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork is a plus.
- Experience with NASA processes is a plus.
