Maintenance Technician

Nelson Connects is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food processing and packaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, processing, and packaging equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production.
- Diagnose and repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to maintain equipment efficiency.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to facilitate repairs and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
- Operate tools such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and welders for metalworking to maintain equipment and perform repairs.
- Initiate purchase requests for replacement parts as needed to ensure timely repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and GMPs while performing maintenance duties to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain the work area in a clean and sanitary condition to meet regulatory requirements.
- 3 to 5 years of paid experience at a Journeyman Mechanic level with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to weld and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to ensure equipment reliability.
- Experience with shop equipment, basic computer skills, and electrical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
- Proficiency in reading technical documents, safety guidelines, and schematics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry for calculations to ensure accurate diagnoses and repairs.
- Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and work in environments exposed to electrical hazards, high places, and varying weather conditions.
