Smart Device Integration: This area encompasses our smart lock technology, facilitating seamless check-ins for guests through lock code management. We aim to broaden our scope to include thermostats, air conditioning systems, and other controllable devices that enhance host experiences. Our approach involves utilizing multiple integrations to optimize IoT interactions and significantly elevate guest satisfaction.
Financial Analytics: If you thrive on numerical data, this domain is for you. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from ensuring accurate financial breakdowns for all reservations across various platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Vrbo) to presenting this data in meaningful formats within our Metrics product and enhancing our recently launched Owner Statements feature.
Key Responsibilities:As a vital member of our product and engineering team, you will focus on delivering outstanding experiences for our hosts.
Collaborating with fellow software engineers and product specialists, you will help evolve our product and work towards our vision of simplifying short-term rental operations.
While this position is rooted in software engineering, you will enjoy significant ownership and accountability in shaping the product. This role transcends merely executing tasks; it involves actively contributing to the product development process.
Our fully-distributed team comprises 4 product managers, 12 backend engineers, and 3 frontend engineers. We are expanding our team to maintain high shipping velocity and fill newly created roles.
After an initial onboarding period, you will immediately engage in feature development, enhancing and owning the experiences we provide to hosts and their guests.
To achieve this, you will:
- Collaborate with product, sales, customer success, and engineering teams to design and implement features that address key challenges.
- Utilize your software engineering expertise to create intuitive user experiences that are easy for customers to navigate and for engineers to maintain.
- Contribute to discussions on product direction.
- Refine launched features based on user feedback.
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation.
- Integrate various third-party services, often managing asynchronous workflows.
- Address challenges arising from complex systems at scale.
- Work within our cohesive monolithic codebase and a few microservices, all supported by a Kubernetes-driven infrastructure-as-code environment.
- Implement observability tools to monitor and troubleshoot post-deployment.
- Identify and resolve performance issues, high resource consumption, and other technical challenges that significantly impact business operations and user experience.
