Major Incident Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Major Incident Manager to join our team at Merge IT. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for managing and resolving complex technical issues that impact our clients' businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Restore service as quickly as possible, within Service Level Agreements (SLAs), while minimizing business impact.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Govern and drive technical ownership and resources.
  • Engage with vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Act as the single point of contact for the Major Incident Management Process.

Technical Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a hands-on network engineer, implementing, designing, and supporting large enterprise networks.
  • Advanced working expertise in EIGRP routing protocols, TCP/IP, Multicast, LON, and protocol redistribution.
  • Strong working expertise in LAN technologies (HSRP, STP, VLANs, and IP-subnetting).
  • Good working knowledge of network cabling infrastructure and specifications.
  • Experience with corporate change management procedures (design and peer review).
  • Industry certifications CCNP is a must; CCIE or passed written is a plus.
