The Staff Radiation Therapist plays a vital role in the Department of Radiation Oncology at The Ohio State University. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy and imaging procedures to patients, ensuring accurate and safe treatment plans are implemented.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures, including simulation and treatment for malignancies and pain.
- Deliver prescribed planned courses of radiation therapy to patients, adhering to established standards and protocols.
- Conduct quality assessment activities, education, and training for radiation therapy students, as directed by the Radiation Therapy Manager.
- Assist in treatment planning, maintaining prescribed standards set forth by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Monitor patients for unusual reactions and events, observing radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
- Participate in patient education, contributing to the education and research missions of the Medical Center through clinical education and projects.
- Perform quality assessment activities for the Department of Radiation Oncology.
- 2-Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiation Therapy.
- 2+ years of Radiation Therapy experience.
- Ongoing: Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements, demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions, and maintains registration and licensure through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Ohio Department of Health.
