Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse Specialist to join our team at Quadrant, Inc. as a Surgical Care Professional.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Ensure the operating room is prepared for specific patients and procedures, including checking for necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Assisting in Patient Transport: Assist in transporting patients to the operating room and verify patient records for appropriate pre-operative preparation and procedures.
  • Surgical Preparation: Perform and/or direct appropriate surgical preparation, including completing documentation for O.R. records, laboratory requisitions, and patient charts.
  • Instrument and Supply Management: Direct proper care of instruments, supplies, sterilization, and storage of equipment.
  • Patient Positioning and Care: Supervise and assist with the proper, safe positioning of patients and perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
  • Surgical Specimen Handling: Identify, label, and care for all surgical specimens properly.
  • Emergency Equipment and Supplies: Secure emergency equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Operating Room Environment: Control the general tone of the operating room and perform tasks of the scrub role.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Licensure: Currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Maryland.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year experience in the operating room.
  • Certifications: BLS required.
