Position Summary

The Vault Cashier plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the casino, serving as the primary source for gaming funds. This position entails the meticulous management and accountability of all financial transactions related to employees and the casino floor, alongside the safeguarding and balancing of vault assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute financial transactions for employees and the casino floor, including bank issuances, returns, tip drops, event drops, fills, and credits, adhering to established protocols.
  2. Facilitate guest financial transactions such as ticket and voucher redemptions, check cashing, credit advances, and chip sales/redemptions, as needed.
  3. Verify daily gaming proceeds drops and accept accountability from Soft Count, following prescribed procedures.
  4. Ensure security and accurate balancing of cash and cash equivalents during shifts, handling significant amounts responsibly.
  5. Maintain an orderly workstation, ensuring all shift-end documentation is organized, totaled, and balanced according to procedures.
  6. Comply with all regulatory standards, including those set by NIGC, SFNGC, IRS, and State Compact concerning Cage/Vault operations.
  7. Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive demeanor, adhering to company policies regarding conduct.
  8. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Casino Cages and Vault during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Assess business needs and allocate staff resources accordingly, providing input for effective scheduling.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and mentor staff to enhance their technical skills and guest service capabilities.
  • Complete end-of-shift cashier closeouts, compiling and verifying necessary reports and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Report suspicious activities to management and collaborate with Security and Surveillance for investigations.
  • Verify significant transactions and maintain proper documentation for payouts exceeding specified amounts.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service by monitoring staff performance and assisting in resolving guest and employee issues.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
Qualifications

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  1. Manage scheduling, employee performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Cage Manager.
  2. Recommend performance standards, policy changes, promotions, and terminations to the Cage Manager.
  3. May be granted additional supervisory authority as directed by Executive Management.
Required Skills:
  1. Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  2. Proficient in operating computers, printers, and card machines.
  3. Prior supervisory experience in a financial setting is preferred.
Education and Experience:
  1. High School diploma or GED is required.
  2. Experience in cash handling is preferred.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers and cash.
Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions and handle unexpected situations.

Other Skills:
Basic analytical and deductive reasoning skills, along with strong computer proficiency and interpersonal skills.
