As the Lead Land Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and guiding a dedicated team that efficiently organizes and allocates survey tasks. This team will comprise both field and office personnel responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of all surveying activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing project timelines and client deliverables, allocating resources effectively
  • Collaborating with field crews through verbal and written communication to synchronize work efforts
  • Providing training and mentorship to survey crew members on equipment and operational procedures
  • Acting as the primary liaison with clients on behalf of the firm
  • Utilizing advanced surveying equipment to gather precise location data
  • Generating surveys using industry-standard software
  • Conducting research on legal and survey documentation as necessary to fulfill project requirements
  • Balancing responsibilities between fieldwork and office tasks.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Professional Surveyor License
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience with various survey types, including boundary, topographic, mortgage, ALTA, and construction staking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a licensed professional surveyor
  • Familiarity with Trimble Robotics, Trimble Access, and Carlson Survey software

Our operations are conducted within a manageable radius, allowing for minimal overnight travel, and we offer the flexibility to work from home when appropriate. We provide adaptable work hours for qualified candidates.
