Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. This role is focused on providing exceptional care in a MED/SURG environment, specifically in post-operative gastrointestinal and wound management.

Certification Requirements
  • Active AHA certification is mandatory; RQI is acceptable.
  • Specialty certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and others may be required based on facility needs.
  • Verification of state licenses and certifications must be completed within 30 days of commencement.
  • All applicants must possess a valid LA License or a Compact License at the time of application.
Position Details
  • This position requires expertise in post-operative care with a focus on GI and wound management.
  • Applicants should have prior experience in a full-time post-operative unit.
  • A minimum of one completed travel contract is necessary for consideration.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Patient conditions may include but are not limited to pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, and various post-operative complications.
  • Familiarity with special procedures such as pancreatectomy, esophagectomy, and bariatric surgery is preferred.
  • Experience with equipment like PEG, PCA, and surgical drains is advantageous.
Job Requirements
  • Proven acute care experience is essential.
  • Specific experience in post-operative GI and wound care is a must.
Schedule Information

The management is open to considering a blocked schedule, with options for weekend rotations.
