About You and This Role:
You will operate designated equipment or areas within the facility. You will perform and report on operational activities as outlined in the Operations Dashboard (OPD)-Tasks List. You will utilize discretionary time to foster sustainable performance outcomes for the plant. Drawing on your operational knowledge and experience, you will proactively manage the plant in a safe, reliable, and optimal manner. Collaborating with your Shift Team, you will efficiently anticipate and address unplanned events, escalating issues to the appropriate support roles when necessary. You may also provide training to less experienced operators. Basic technical skills are required to execute a range of routine work activities using established processes and methods. Note: Operator Progression is managed at the site level.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to Operating Discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assigned plant areas. Ensure adequate operating discipline is available for all planned and unplanned activities. Operate and conduct field checks on process equipment. Monitor process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment, and control systems, making informed decisions to maintain or achieve desired rates and conditions aligned with Plant/Site/Business objectives. Execute scheduled operational tasks and address tasks arising from unplanned events. Collaborate with shift team members and other teams to leverage skills and knowledge, balancing workload to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Conduct effective shift relief, as defined in facility-specific operating discipline and tools, ensuring seamless communication and handoff to the incoming shift team. Maintain qualifications in assigned areas per facility policy and complete training goals promptly, utilizing discretionary time to address skills and knowledge gaps. Mentor and train new and existing operations personnel on process operation, troubleshooting, and the application of operating discipline in accordance with the plant's training process. Perform Immediate Response activities as assigned. Initiate and document preliminary investigations according to plant-specific processes/criteria and participate in formal and informal Root Cause Investigations for events involved in or by request. Track and utilize the plant's key performance metrics during shifts applicable to the Plant Operating role to optimize operations and identify improvement opportunities. Leverage process knowledge and skills to enhance plant performance and operating discipline. Proactively identify improvements and opportunities using facility improvement processes, appropriate management of change processes, and communication tools. Conduct Autonomous Maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance, following appropriate policies, procedures, processes, and disciplines. Note: Subject to local agreements. Safely and efficiently perform all duties expected from the role while adhering to Dow's procedures and policies. Accurately fill product packaging components to the specified weight for each material, ensuring all labeling, paperwork, and inventory counts are precise.Required Qualifications:
A minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent. A minimum of one year of manufacturing experience. Must be able to work a 3 days on, 3 days off day/night work schedule and be flexible with work assignments. Must be able to perform minimal bending/crouching and lift items weighing up to 50lbs.
