Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate a comprehensive security/school safety program, ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and facilities.
  • Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement agencies to monitor the daily operation of the School Resource Officer (SRO) program, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
  • Work with local law enforcement agencies to encourage community-policing efforts on school campuses, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security plans for special events, ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors.
  • Provide training and assistance to site-based administrators in matters of safety and security, promoting a culture of safety and security.
  • Direct/coordinate the periodic assessment/audit of school facilities and grounds, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of a District level Crisis Response Plan, ensuring the district is prepared to respond to emergencies and crises.
  • Assist/advises in the development of crisis management/emergency response plans, ensuring the district is prepared to respond to emergencies and crises.
  • Provide requested reports to the Superintendent on matters pertaining to school safety, ensuring the Superintendent is informed and up-to-date on safety and security matters.
  • Serve as the leader of the District's Safe Schools Committee, promoting a culture of safety and security throughout the district.
Requirements
  • Understanding of emergency management and preparedness, including crisis management and emergency response planning.
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations, including strategic plans and policies.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and allocate resources, including budgeting and resource management.
  • Experience in change management, organizational structure, performance management, and/or administrative responsibilities.
  • Experience in developing, revising, and implementing standard policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
