Correctional Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team at The GEO Group. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of detainees in a safe and secure environment.

About the Job:

• Supervise and monitor detainees in living, recreation, dining, and visitation areas.
• Coordinate their movement and provide emergency response as needed.
• Ensure program activities remain safe and supervise labor crews.
• Conduct shakedowns for contraband materials and confiscate prohibited items.
• Keep accurate logs on detainees, including disciplinary reports.
• Provide assistance to those who have been injured, ill, or have suffered trauma.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to ensure facility cleanliness.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences or related field preferred.
• Possession of applicable state requisites for employment.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with extended hours.
• Regular attendance and punctuality essential.
• Ability to work up to 16 hours within a rolling 24-hour period.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year
