JOB SUMMARY
The Meat Processing Specialist is responsible for expertly cutting meat to meet customer specifications while ensuring a high yield of product. This role supports the production team by providing properly trimmed products ready for subsequent processing.

QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities
  • Identify deficiencies in raw materials
  • Recognize products by their proper names and trim all loins effectively
  • Label and identify sub-primal cuts post-trimming to ensure readiness for the next processing stage
  • Understand basic cuts and trims required for production (e.g., stews, roasts, etc.)
  • Perform heavy lifting as needed
Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Engage in heavy lifting activities
  • Utilize tactile skills to operate various processing and material handling equipment
  • Ability to detect wholesomeness and spoilage through smell
  • Work in refrigerated processing and warehouse areas, which may be cold and wet, with exposure to moving machinery and sharp surfaces
