Aerospace Assembly Role at Ducommun

As an Assembler with Ducommun, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of large, complex contoured structural components and assemblies for aerospace applications. Our facility in Coxsackie, NY is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and processes, including stretch-forming, thermal-forming, chemical processing, precision fabrication, machining, finishing processes, and integration of components into subassemblies.

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as an Assembler. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and work instructions, and experience working with various hand tools, tooling fixtures, and machines.

The successful candidate will have basic resistance welding skills, be familiar with customer specifications, and be able to verify conformance of finished work pieces to customer requirements. Additionally, they will have a basic understanding and practice of Lean Manufacturing principles and 6S.

This is a dynamic role that requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly, and follow all safety rules and regulations.

Job Summary:

* Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
* Position parts according to blueprints, fixturing, and operations sheets
* Trim, fit, and fasten parts together using various methods
* Operate hand tools, tooling fixtures, and machines such as belt sanders, saws, grinders, riveting machines, drill presses, and shears

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* 3-6 months' aerospace assembly experience preferred
* Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
* Ability to learn new software programs and internal ERP systems
