Emergency Room Registered Nurse Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Critical Care Nursing Specialist to join our team at St. David's Georgetown Hospital in Austin, Texas.
The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an Emergency Department setting and hold current licensure in the State of Texas or Compact License with Texas license obtained within 90 days of hire.
Job Summary:
This is a full-time position working varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. As a Critical Care Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for performing assessments, developing plans of care, and implementing interventions for assigned patients in our Level IV trauma center.
You will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to refine and achieve plans of care, continuously monitoring patient physical condition, emotional, and social needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments on a regular basis
- Conduct triage assessments with rapid data collection related to medical and traumatic emergencies
- Evaluate injury causation and ensure neglect or abuse is reported to the appropriate agency
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans with expected outcomes for each assigned patient
- Verify, document, and administer medications as ordered by physicians
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health conditions and treatment plans
- Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes and document effectiveness of interventions
Requirements:
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License with Texas license obtained within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) OR Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
