Advanced Interventional Radiology Technologist Position

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team in Bakersfield, California. This 13-week assignment offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic medical team and utilize your expertise in minimally invasive procedures.
Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist who specializes in assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. As an IR Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment during procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Procedure Preparation: Ensure all necessary imaging equipment, sterile instruments, and supplies are available and functioning. Review patient information, medical history, and previous imaging studies to ensure the correct procedure and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Assisting During Procedures: Assist the interventional radiologist in performing a wide range of minimally invasive procedures, including angiograms, biopsies, catheter placements, stent insertions, and drain placements. Operate imaging equipment to guide the physician during procedures, ensuring accurate imaging to target specific areas of the body.
- Patient Safety and Comfort: Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure, positioning the patient appropriately to obtain optimal images while preventing injury. Take precautions to minimize radiation exposure to both the patient and the healthcare team by following radiation safety protocols, using shielding, and optimizing imaging settings.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in radiologic technology and experience working in an interventional radiology setting. You should be proficient in operating various imaging equipment, such as fluoroscopy units, CT scans, and ultrasound machines. Additionally, you must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Compensation and BenefitsThis travel assignment offers a competitive salary of $95.00 per hour, based on 8 hours shifts and 40 hours per week. In addition to your hourly rate, you will receive a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
