Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Interaction
    • Ensure efficient patient flow by monitoring schedules and coordinating appointments
    • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patients, preparing them for treatment, and addressing their concerns
    • Teach patients proper oral hygiene techniques and provide educational materials to promote healthy habits
    • Recognize and respond to medical and dental emergencies, and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Chairside and Expanded Duties Assisting
    • Prepare operatory for procedures, document patient information, and take vital signs as needed
    • Assist dentists with various treatment procedures, using four-handed dentistry techniques
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control protocols
    • Order supplies, manage inventory, and perform other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Office Management
    • Perform office management tasks, including scheduling, billing, and record-keeping
    • Develop and implement systems to improve efficiency and productivity
    • Collaborate with front desk staff to ensure seamless communication and patient flow
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of dental assisting program preferred
    • 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Radiography certificate required
    • Current CPR certification required
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Basic computer skills required; experience with Dentrix software preferred
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
