We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Project Inspector to join our team at Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC. As a key member of our Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of transportation projects across various locations.
Key Responsibilities- Project Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations.
- Quality Control: Sample and test construction materials to ensure they meet quality requirements, and document findings for engineering staff.
- Material Sampling: Collect and analyze samples of concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and aggregates to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Communication: Interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, client representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure project progress and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Meeting Attendance: Attend project meetings and interact with client and third-party personnel to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Survey preferred.
- Experience: 3 or more years of relevant experience in materials, standards, and specifications related to transportation projects and facilities required.
- Certifications: Must complete the following safety courses within 6 months of hire: OSHA 10, Work Zone Traffic Control, Personal Fall Arrest Systems: Fall Protection, and Confined Space Entry & Self Rescue- Competent Person.
- Skills: Must have math calculation skills, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience, and strong written and communication skills.
- Physical Demands: This position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds sometimes on a frequent basis, and the ability to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions.
