About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Systems Engineer to join our team at Transurban. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering services to support the delivery and ongoing support of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) on our roadways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Project Managers to support the delivery of ITS projects involving the deployment of safety and mission-critical systems in open road environments.
  • Partner with Transurban Asset Managers and ITS Operations to conduct performance investigations, supportability and obsolescence studies, and system enhancement studies.
  • Contribute to the development and application of technical governance policies and procedures, specifically with respect to the management of ITS and System Integrity.
  • Support governance activities through the analysis of reports on system performance and maintenance tasks.
  • Support Transurban's domestic and international business development activities through the provision of subject matter expertise with respect to system engineering and ITS.
Requirements
  • Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in the application of engineering principles, techniques, and methods.
  • Experience, exposure, or demonstrated interest in ITS.
  • Project management and project development knowledge and experience.
  • Previous Quality Systems experience, preferred.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated to learn new skills and understand electronic tolling, traffic management systems, and tunnel safety systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in relation to negotiation and influence.
  • Developed communication skills, both verbal and written, to prepare concise management reports.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently, complete clearly defined tasks, and follow issues through to conclusion.
  • Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree, preferred.
