Position Overview

The Travel Histology Technician plays a crucial role in the medical laboratory setting, performing essential laboratory analyses and ensuring accurate reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certification Requirements: ASCP certification is mandatory.
  • Laboratory Duties: Conduct laboratory analyses, evaluate results, and report findings promptly and accurately.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve basic laboratory issues while assisting in the upkeep of laboratory systems.
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent education and training as recognized by ASCP Board of Certification.
  • Licensure/Certification: ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT), or certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
  • Alternative Education: An Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, with ASCP certification as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT).
Additional Information

To qualify for travel assignments, the permanent residence of the technician must be located more than 50 miles from the facility.
