Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will conduct thorough evaluations of patients regarding cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and language, as directed by physicians. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting video fluoroscopic swallow studies in compliance with established protocols.
  • Creating and executing effective treatment plans in collaboration with medical professionals.
  • Providing patient care in alignment with Speech/Language Pathology standards.
  • Performing evaluations such as bedside swallowing assessments and promptly communicating results to the healthcare team.
  • Developing educational plans based on identified patient needs and assessing their effectiveness, involving family members as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Current state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • AHA BLS certification within the first month of employment.
