Boston Medical Center is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct clinical and support services to patients and their families in our Emergency Department.
Under the direction of our registered nurses and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, you will perform a variety of delegated patient care interventions, including obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, and providing emotional support.
You will also contribute to the efficient operation of the Emergency Department, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes. Your ability to work cooperatively with all healthcare team members will be essential in providing a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities:- Perform delegated patient care interventions, including vital signs, bathing, feeding, and wound care.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the Emergency Department.
- Work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a safe and clean environment.
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification.
- Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic math and computer proficiency.
- One year of previous experience as an Emergency Department Technician in an acute hospital setting.
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation.
- Completed an approved Emergency Department Technician training program.
